About Martin
Montessori Academy
Team Focus
- Evolutionary approach to the child-parent-teacher
connection, building on the successes that Maria Montessori shared with us.
Behavioral Focus
- Greatly reduce, & eliminate, yes, eliminate the vast majority of behavioral issues
facing parents. The premise is simple. All other things being equal, once
we've eliminated some basic, normal misbehaviors, we will
start to see happier kids and enhanced educational results. Furthermore, if
there ever was a time where you could "have your cake & eat it too", this
would be it. In other words, to some extent the higher educational results
will simply be a bi-product of the environment in which the children are
learning. The character-based curriculum being offered is enough to thrill
parents & captivate the attention of the kids! Positive results will
naturally follow. But the clincher is this:
Technology Focus
-
While children can adapt, it
is not natural for them to go to school, or anywhere else for that
matter for an 8 to 12 hour period every day without seeing
Mom & Dad at least for a little while. Of course they'll be ok without
us, but who says we should accept “ok” just because it can be done? What
would happen if they could see us, if only for a few minutes during the
day? At Martin Montessori Academy, this will happen! Using video
conferencing, you & your child will be able to share the little moments
that make life great. Your precious child will know that he is just
that. He'll know just how much he matters to you. She'll see your smiling face & know that you're there for her.
She'll see you right after nap time when she wants to share an exciting
story with you.
-
Sometimes we worry, “seeing
me during the day will only make it worse for her/him”. That can be
true initially during a brief period of time when your child is
experiencing separation anxiety. When correctly handled, this will not
occur, or be such a short-lived time-frame, and then for the remainder
of the year your child & you will be able to maintain a healthy,
balanced dynamic. Martin Montessori Academy offers parents &
children the opportunity to interact for 5 - 10 minutes, via Skype Video
Conferencing. Simple & secure.
***This interaction will pay
dividends at home & on the report card eventually!***
